Good Performance, definitely a steal for the price December 4, 2009 RHAV8R 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Like the others, I picked up mine for $89 in black friday sales. Let me tell you, this monitor is definitely a steal! I am having a bit skepticism at first as there are barely any previous reviews for this monitor. However upon powering the monitor for the first time, my skepticism were gone.
The design is relatively nice and simple; not as fancy as the others (plain black bezels, simple monitor stand, not rotatable, and there's no HDMI input). It does give you a DVI input, however emachines didn't give me a DVI cable; just too bad but i can't complain (hey, its an $89 monitor :) )
Performance wise, this thing just blows! The performance are exceptional; no dead pixels and colors are just vibrant. Oh boy, let me tell you, once you go wide screen you will never go back :) Definitely worth it!
One thing that this monitor lack is probably in its OSD buttons, a bit difficult to set your monitor as the buttons are obscured under the "e" logo. Might need some time to get used to it I guess.
Great for price paid December 2, 2009 Ranger (Utah) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I also picked up this monitor on Black Friday for the price noted by the first reviewer. Before I set up the monitor I discovered that it was made by Acer and appeared to be a very close relation to the Acer I was currently using. The signicant difference was a much lower cost. I bought this monitor for use with a second system and find the performance to be identical to my existing Acer. The controls are located differenly, but once you get use to them they are fine. I have a slight preference for the Acer rather than the eMachines layout, but the basic performance vs. the cost is top notch. No bad pixels, good brightness and clarity. I likewise will continue to use the existing speakers rather than those on the monitor.
All in all, it was a good leap of faith.
Great Monitor for the Price! November 30, 2009 Gopher 1 (Berkeley, California United States) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I picked this E-Machines LCD monitor for the $89 price on Black Friday and took a chance without seeing any reviews. It appeared to be new on the market and I have to say after using it for 3 days, I am quite satisfied with the quality. The color looks great with no dead pixels. The text is easy to read. I am not using the sound component and have not tested it. Most sound systems incorporated with monitors do not work really well. I use this LCD monitor mainly for e-mail, net surfing, Microsoft Office, and videos on Youtube. Everything works well. In short, no regrets on buying this monitor.
Please note there are many spyware programs that will download onto your computer when you are searching the web for information on this specific LCD monitor. I experienced it twice.
Fantastic Document Monitor January 11, 2010 BioGeek Bought one of these as a back-up in case my 23" Samsung HD monitor gave out and have been totally impressed by the value ($89 Black Friday deal). The viewing angle is a little narrower than my Samsung but there are no dead pixels and the color is gorgeous. I also found the "3M Easy Adjust Monitor Stand" on Amazon for just $27.94 (look at the More Buying Choices pane on the right side). The new stand swivels, tilts and rotates making it very easy to rotate the display into a portrait position. WOW, I added this setup as a second monitor and with the monitor in the portrait position, I can read entire articles, read SEC filings and search Google and never need to scroll down -- it's all right there. Extremely convenient. (Hint: almost all graphics drivers provide a rotate 90 degree feature in their setup menus and for some machines, just hitting CTRL+ALT+(right or left arrow) will rotate the graphics appropriately (use up arrow to go back to normal orientation). Bought one for my gamer son and he loves it as well. Would recommend to anyone.
